Week 16! Baptism!

This week we baptized Hna. Eugenia! Elder de Arce performed the ordinance. She was a abit nervous about the baptism in the days before, but we helped her feel better, and also some members sent some encouraging messages to help her out! It was a little nervewracking during the baptism, since she lost footing and opened her mouth (Apparently she said it was because she saw me and started to laugh or something like that. Not exactly sure, I didn't understand the sentence in Spanish too much.) All was well after though! Hna Koo helped her, and then Hna Eugenia bore her testimony. Short and sweet. Glad we can help her with her desires to follow Christ!

On Tuesday we walked... A lot. "Pioneer children sang as they walked, and walked, and walked, and walked, and walked, and...." you get the point. It was a companion exchange for one day with Elder Williams. I lead him around our area this time. We walked all day and had one lesson at the very end after trying contacting 18-20 people who ended up not being in their houses. It was all ok though, because the lessons we had was with someone who we hadn't had contact with for over a month! Little blessings like that are great.

The sister of Hna Jesica is a lifesaver. Both my bag and the bag of Elder de Arce were breaking in parts. She took them both on different days, and within 24 hours had them fixed. She completely changed one area of Elder de Arce's bag too to make it stronger. So professional!! She said she used a sewing machine she had that was near the size of a couch. We would've tried to pay her, but she said beforehand that service is something she likes, and doesn't want to be paid for stuff like that. I am really greatful for all she does for us. Every time she makes us desserts or food or fixes our stuff, I just feel greatful for her service.

This sunday as we were walking, we passed by an investigator who the Hermanas before us taught, and she has all the lessons and was ready to be baptised, but wasn't for some reason. We had tried to find her for 2 months, but couldn't! And then yesterday we just wakled by her on the street! We have a lesson with her today, and all she needs is to go to church 2 more times and she can get baptized! So we may have another baptism on the 4th of february! Just thinking about it, we were guided by the spirit. If we hadn't been on that specific street at that specific time, we wouldn't have found her. Small blessings are always the best :)

Some good food from this week. A dessert called Alfajar de Quinua (i think thats how you spell quinua (keen-wa)). Also a dish called Causa con (Atuna?) (tuna fish). Causa is great, but with tuna fish and avocado it's amazing.

funny story. We were in an area with a gate that could lock, and Elder de Arce accidentally shut it. We thought we were locked in a little area of houses, but thankfully around the corner there was a gate we could open from the inside. Never shut gates with locks that you don't have keys to.. Haha

I hope you all have had a great week!

Peru is amazing, and I am always extremely greatful to serve here!

Con mucho amor
