April 10, 2017 - Week 28

This week was awesome! I don't have tons of time to write, but as always I'll try and fit in as much as I can! This week started out pretty awesome. Sadly we didn't get to go to the Huaca like we wanted, because it was only open Wednesday to Sunday, but I still got some pics from the outside! That same day, we went and searched for a reference given to us from a Sister in another ward. We found them, and it was a family of 3! Mom, Dad, and Daughter. They really are awesome, and even though we haven't had a 2nd lesson yet, the first lesson went great, and I know that the gospel really can be a blessing in their lives! We almost didn't get in when we knocked their apartment door, but gladly we knew their last name haha (which is what they wondered if we knew), so they talked to us a little more and let us in! Such a great family! We also had another lesson with Hermano Leo this week. He's been reading the Book of Mormon and has lots of questions! I re...

First thing's first. Conference was AWESOME! So many great talks, and I wish I could spend time talking about them all, but I don't have time. Second thing. I keep seeing posters here that say that Justin Bieber and Linkin Park and Ed Sheeran are coming here to Peru soon. I won't be close, but I didn't know they were popular here! Tomorrow I'll be a sister missionary – meaning I've been out 6 months already! (I have 18 months left, as much as sister missionaries have on their missions.) Last Monday for P day we went to the Center of Lima for P day, and I saw some elders that told me that Elder de Arce is now their Zone Leader in the Rimac zone! Crazy. He was my trainer and district leader at the time when he was my companion. We visited a great investigator named Leo this week. He is really interested in our lessons, because he reads the Bible lots, and said that the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith were really new to him, but he said he wanted t...

March 27, 2017 – Week 26 – TRANSFERS!

Image
This week has been good! I got transferred to an area called Las Brisas, which is in Magdalena. It's not near the beach or any big stores like my other sector, and it feels more dry and hot here, but it's a good sector! I'll hopefully memorize parts of it soon! Our pensionista is named Yolanda,  Hermana Yolanda (last name i forgot as of now) and we eat with her and her family. she has 2 daughters and one son, and sometimes her husband is there, which is great because when he is, we can all eat together as a big group!  (from the roof of the pensionistas apartment, i can see san miguel and some buildings in my old sector haha. yeah we're pretty close) This week I met our ward mission leader, who's so young! Seems like 25 years old. He's great, and really has a concern for the mission work in the ward too! We'll be having activities for ward members so that they can bring nonmember friends at least once every transfer! We visited lots of familie...
