March 27, 2017 – Week 26 – TRANSFERS!
This week has been good! I got transferred to an area called Las Brisas, which is in Magdalena. It's not near the beach or any big stores like my other sector, and it feels more dry and hot here, but it's a good sector! I'll hopefully memorize parts of it soon!
Our pensionista is named Yolanda, Hermana Yolanda (last name i forgot as of now) and we eat with her and her family. she has 2 daughters and one son, and sometimes her husband is there, which is great because when he is, we can all eat together as a big group!
(from the roof of the pensionistas apartment, i can see san miguel and some buildings in my old sector haha. yeah we're pretty close)
This week I met our ward mission leader, who's so young! Seems like 25 years old. He's great, and really has a concern for the mission work in the ward too! We'll be having activities for ward members so that they can bring nonmember friends at least once every transfer!
We visited lots of families this week. We had more 10 lessons this week, and that doesn’t include those we had with members present. I feel like we'll be having lots of baptisms in April! I sure hope we do!
We were searching for a man named Richard, who we contacted this week, but when we went to his house, we instead found another Richard (his son) and taught him! He's having a bit of a hard time right now, but we are helping him to feel better after all that has happened. He really likes when we visit since it helps him feel better, and he was surprised when we said we left everything for 2 years to serve missions. I feel he trusts us a lot. He is great, and really has desires to change!
We also have visited some families, all of which are awesome. One recent convert named Jesus is so great. We visited their family, and we were supposed to have a family home evening one night, but we all just talked so much that time slipped away, and we ended up having to come back the next night to visit them again.
Side note, family home evening type lessons are always great, especially when theres a recently born bulldog in the house that doesn’t have strength to walk yet. SO CUTE!
I love the families in this ward. They are all great, and very welcoming too! There are lots of youth and young single adults too, and they are helpful when we need them to come to lessons with us. It's interesting because some of them knew some of the people i baptized in san miguel!
I don’t have too much to write this week because I'm still getting to know the sector and the people here, but I'm excited to get to know everyone!
I also am very excited for General Conference this weekend! I invite all of you to go to watch it or to watch it at home / online wherever you are!I know that the messages shared are inspired, and that we can all watch with a question in our mind and heart and we will find an answer to that question.
I love sharing the gospel, and my testimony grows each and every day.
I hope you all are doing great! Let me know all about life where you may be!
