Elder Preston Bruner

This week has been a great week! We've had a ton of new investigators this week. 15 in total. I won't have much time to explain and describe them all, but they are all different! Some are married, some aren't, some are young, some are old. There is such a variety of people in this sector. It's great! It's interesting and a good learning opportunity to be able to work with so many different people!  One of our investigators, Shioko, is still preparing for her baptism! She has a baptismal date for this saturday, and it will be a good experience! Her mom is a member, and she's been able to go to church with her for the past 2 weeks! She knows a lot about the gospel even though she's young! It's great to see even young people learn more about the gospel of Jesus Christ! We also met with a Christian and she knew TONS about the Bible. We tried teaching, but each time we talked, she talked a ton as well and didn't really give us time. I tried t...

Good week this week! On Tuesday we watched the little spec ial broadcast where they announced the new 1st Presidency. It was a cool little meeting! I know that the calls are really made by revelation, and that God gives revelation to His prophets and apostols so they can guide the work of the Lord here on the earth. That day, we also had a goal of 100 contacts. It was a part of a 2 day sacrifice we were doing to have more miracles in the zone. As a companionship we got to 77 contacts. I feel like contacting lots is a good way to get to know more people in the area, but afterwards, I realized what I could do better to contact more efficiently. I think the helpful part of so many contacts was being able to realize how I could change to contact in a better way!  On Wednesday we had our district meeting, which was awesome like always. Good week this week! On Tuesday we had transfers, and now I'm in a sector called Caja de Agua. It's in the zone Las Flores. It's a sector like the other one I was in. LOTS of stairs and hill. It's the back half of a hill called San Cristobal ( a really touristic visiting hill), but we don't see tourists in the bottom part we are in. It's a good sector though! Lots of people! This week, my companion and I found 11 new investigators! Even though many of them didn't accept a baptismal date, we are still going to be working with them so that they can accept a date for baptism in the future! My first day here was interesting. Welcomed by many drunk people in the street haha, but many nice investigators and members too! We taught an israelite this week. It was the 1st inevstigator family I taught in this sector. It was interesting! I had never taught one before, but now I know some more of their beliefs and what they do to worship. It's interesting! Very ...

Good week! I don't have tons of time to write today, so I'll get in the important stuff. first off, I have transfers tomorrow to the zone Las Flores. I'll let you know how it is next week! So we heard that President Monson passed away this week. It's sad, but the best part is: the work of the Lord continues! We'll be soon hearing about our new Prophet and new Apostoles! I can't wait for the next General Conference! It will be an exciting time! We finally got to know our sector this week too. The bishop went with us and the 4 other missionaries in the ward to walk around the sector limits so we could all know. Our sector is a bit smaller now, but we finally found a part that we didn't know where it was! My companion Elder Nogales celebrated his birthday this week! HAPPY NEW YEAR! 2018 IS HERE! This week was pretty cool. Started off with Christmas and ended with a new year. I'm not sure why, but this week I was stressed about teaching in district meeting, but I prepared the lesson like I normally do each week, and just went forward. During the lesson, it seemed like things were going a bit slow, but then at the end of the lesson, I felt better. I felt like it was the right thing to teach, and I felt more happy and relieved! It just shows that even when things can be stressing, as long as we are doing the right thing and move forward, all will work out well. That day we also had divisions with the zone leaders. I lead Elder Mena around our sector for a few hours, and we were able to invite an investigator (Diego) to baptism! He accepted the baptismal date! We'll be working with him to help him come to church so that he can keep progressing up to his baptism in February! I also had intercambios with Elder Torres this week, and ...
