January 15, 2018 – Week 68!
Good week this week! On Tuesday we had transfers, and now I'm in a sector called Caja de Agua. It's in the zone Las Flores. It's a sector like the other one I was in. LOTS of stairs and hill. It's the back half of a hill called San Cristobal ( a really touristic visiting hill), but we don't see tourists in the bottom part we are in. It's a good sector though! Lots of people! This week, my companion and I found 11 new investigators! Even though many of them didn't accept a baptismal date, we are still going to be working with them so that they can accept a date for baptism in the future!
My first day here was interesting. Welcomed by many drunk people in the street haha, but many nice investigators and members too! We taught an israelite this week. It was the 1st inevstigator family I taught in this sector. It was interesting! I had never taught one before, but now I know some more of their beliefs and what they do to worship. It's interesting! Very different from what we do in the church. The good thing about this church, the Church of Jesus Christ, is that we know that everyone is or brother or sister spiritaully! Even though they may have differences, there is always something in common. They believe in God, and it's the same God we believe in! It's always possible to share the gospel with people, because there always is some connection between us!
We then had interviews with President this week. They were great, and excited me a lot to work in this zone! There is a lot of possible progress, so we've just gotta work hard and keep looking forward, and I know miracles can happen! President and some other missionaries explained that the area we're working in is an area FULL of people to find and teach, and boy is that true! As we are guided by the spirit, we can really find these people who are being prepared to hear the message of the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We also learned how we could update our area book even better so that we can work more easily, and help the future missionaries in this sector to work good too!
The next day, we had a special meeting with President and half the mission. It was to learn more about our goals as a mission for this year, such as "2018 in 2018" which means 2018 baptisms in 2018. We also learned more about our new mission president! It was a great meeting! Then later we had more lessons with some investigators.
Next day, and we had divisions with Elder Birnbaumer and Elder Clark. Elder Birnbaumer is our district leader. So cool! 2nd time he'll be my leader. He's awesome! The divisions went really well, and we fond 6 new investigators that day! I was with Elder Clark, and we found 3 new investigators in their sector! Great work in the divisions!
On Sunday I gave a talk in our ward. It was a pretty small ward. Like 70 ish or 80 attending. The sacrament meeting room is about half the size of our church gym in Utah. Pretty small! But the members there are great and all willing to help!
Today in the morning we went and cleaned 3 church buildings. The ones in or zone. It took a good long while, but it was a good service! The spirit easily will be in those buildings much easier as they are deep cleaned.
This week has been a good week! I haven't had much time to write, but next week I'll fill in more details that I couldn't ge in this week! It's a great sector, and I've got a great companion, Elder Mamani from Bolivia (living now in Argentina), and we'll be working hard! I know the gospel is true and can be a blessing to all we share it with!
Have a great week!
