July 3, 2017 – Week 40!

Wow. Week 40. I'll have been out 9 months tomorrow. CRAZY!

This week has been pretty good! We put ourselves to work and were able to get 118 contacts this week! As a missionary, 118 seems like a pretty good number. Not the most we could get, but not the least at all! We have to work hard, especially this month, because in our mission we have a goal of 120 baptisms each month. We haven't reached the goal yet, and I'm not sure if the mission has reached it before, but this month with 5 weeks I know we'll be able to if we put our strength in our work!

This week we've found a few new investigators, and a couple of them are progressing! One of the investigators we have this week is named Hillary. She came to church this past sunday because a friend from school invited her! We set up a teaching appointment, and later that day, we visited her! It was a good lesson, and she accepted a baptismal date! I know that the spirit will help lead her and lead us as well to know what we should teach and do to help her and all of our other investigators that we have!
Attending church seems to be the struggle. Many of our investigators have reasons not to come to church, but we keep promising the blessings that come from going to church each sunday, and I know it will help them to come! The blessings of coming to church outweigh the fun or momentary pleasure that skipping church brings.

this week we had divisions with the assistants to the President. Best divisions I've had in a while! I went with another Elder Carbajal to contact and visit some families in one part of our sector, while Elder Carbajal (my companion) went with Elder Pender (from Canada) to visit another part of our sector. We found 3 new investigators during those divisions! The power of knocking doors and contacting around the houses or apartments of your investigators is real. We were having a lesson with an investigator names Samir, and then one of his friends came down some apartment stairs, and we took that opportunity to find out where he lived and we knocked their door! His grandpa answered, and we ended up teaching the family! Son, mother, and grandpa. It was great!

I also came into contact with some of my recent converts from San Miguel this week! Patricia came with Patty to our ward this sunday and got pics with me and Elder Carbajal. Haha they always seem to search out the old missionaries that visited them in the past.

There's always that one day where you go to lunch and have Arroz con Pollo, and then visit some recent converts, and they end up giving you some Arroz con Pollo again later that night. 2 times in a day? Arroz con Pollo? I must be in Peru. :P

Today for P Day, we went to the National Arqueological Museum of Peru, which is in Pueblo Libre. It was a cool experience! My camera died abuot halfway though though, but oh well, the experience is better than the photos! Looking at the old textiles and artifacts was awesome! Aagh if I ever return to Peru, it'll be difficult. I'll want to visit so many different places here in the country!

Well, I hope I've included sufficient information for this week. I always leave stuff out I'm, sure. OH YEAH. Like Miracle Monday (of discounts haha). Last Monday I happened to find an original shirt of "La U" for only S/99, when it should be 200 soles. Yes. I bought it. Elder carbajal found his for 150! He was a bit jealous haha, but he found some good soccer shoes for 78 soles. Then we went to eat, and had Lomo Saltado. The normal price was 10 soles, but the nice lady working there said she'll charge as a menu, and charged 7! I boughta little arroz con leche and masa morra thanks to the discount.

Hope you all have a great week this week! Always share your testimony with others! Be a member msisionary!
