August 27, 2018 – Week I don't even know anymore 100...... WHAT?
Week 100. No way. Crazy! I'm loving the mission and I'll continue loving it!
this week was full of meetings and we had a difficulty of finding new investigators, BUT, let me tell you of a great experience I had on Sunday...
So, after making plans and getting people, we had 6 investigators attending church on Sunday! It was awesome seeing all of them! There were also a bunch of less active members who came that day, and some who aren't normally here much were also in the chapel during Sacrament Meeting. I had to give a talk, and when I went up, it was amazing to see so many faces! I gave a talk on faith and miracles, and referenced a few examples of miracles that the Savior performed, and I explained how we can work miracles in our wards and stakes too. I remembered when President Nelson gave a similar talk in our stake a few years ago, and I based my message on his promise that we can have miracles in our stake. In this ward I'm in (Ingenieria (engineering in english)), I said we can be Miracle Engineers here! It's true that if we show faith and act on that faith, miracles can happen! I know that the progress in our area isn't very fast, but we still have the trust in the Lord that one week can change everything, and I know that as we leave behind all the fear and doubt, the Lord will be able to work miracles thanks to the faith we show!
This week was also special because I had my self-reliance training as a preparation for going home in a few weeks. It was SUCH A GOOD TRAINING! It even gave me more suggestions and excitement to work here in the mission! I know that there is a time for everything, and as we make goals and short term and long term plans, we can really fulfill the goals we have! I know that even after being a missionary for two years, we still can work hard in the Lord's kingdom here on earth! I'm excited to do so!
We also had some divisions this week with the Elders in Rimac2B. I went with Elder Baum to teach some of his investigators and also to do a baptismal interview for one of their investigators. Baptismal interviews are always experiences where the spirit is needed, so we will be able to do the will of the Lord. We can always help people progress and resolve their difficulties and questions, we jsut need to be guided by the spirit and share our testimonies!
We also had interviews with President this week. Mine was pretty short because I'll be having interviews later on, but it was still sucha great expereince! Interviews are awesome one on one expereinces and I just love them! It's like personal counsel that comes from the Lord through His servants. So spiritually uplifting!
We also went to the sector of Rimac2B this week to look for new investigators with them in their sector. It was cool knocking doors for a little over an hour and finding a person to teach! She had 2 children (one with her), and was a single mother, and we were able to share a bit about the Plan of Salvation with her because it was the day that 12 years ago her dad passed away. I know that the plan of God is eternal, and it makes it possible for us to see our loved ones again even after we die. I know that the Savior lives. He was resurrected and we will be able to live again after we die as well! It's truly a gift from God.
We are working with a young man right now who has desires to get baptized. A while ago his desires weren't as strong, but as the young men were able to be friends constantly with him, and help him gain a testimony, he's even more excited to be baptized and go to the temple! I know that the Lord can guide him through opposition so that he can reach his goal of baptism! We're constantly praying for him and others. I know that prayer is also very powerful, and God listens to our prayers!
This week wil be awesome, and I hope to make the best of these last weeks I have in full-time service of the Lord!
Hope you all have a great week!
