It's been a good week this week! I can't believe it's the start of week 3! On Tuesday, Sister Bonnie L. Oscarson (The general young women's president) came down to the Mexico City CCM and spoke to us! It was great. We heard her story about how her and her husband were called as mission presidents when she was 25 and her husband was 29. Also a story about her husband's mission companion and how he bore a testimony, which was all that was needed to make a dad say yes to baptism for their whole family.
A cool thought from this week: We were told always to raise the bar, because if we don't, we'll never progress. Many missionaries don't succeed because they become complacement and stop feeling the need to learn more.
My companion was called as our new district leader this week! It'll be a good challenge.
It's crazy how much we're learning here. The goal of the MTC is to have us learn 1500 to 2000 words, 350 to 500 phrases, and all the grammar in a prep book before we leave. I think I'll get a lot done, and I hope I can reach that goal! It's becoming easier to speak Spanish now, and I can already pray and bear my testimony in pretty much all spanish. I've memorized the missionary objective, the first vision, and the baptismal commitment in spanish, and I'm working on moroni 10:4-5 now.
This week, my companion Elder Leifson is playing the piano for our sunday devotional with all the missionaries, and I offered to be the chorister, so I hope I can lead the music well! It's in front of a ton of people, the devotionals are huge, but it'll be cool! Also, for the devotional this past Tuesday, the choir (which I sadly wasn't a part of this time because my companion didn't really want to sing), sang the EFY medley of "Armies of Helamen" and "As sisters in Zion", which I'm pretty sure is the exact same medley as the one I sang in stake conference with the youth choir when Neil. A. Anderson visited our stake conference.
We're going to the temple again today, so it'll be a busy day, but still awesome!

Funny stories: My companion got our teachers to dab this week, and they thought it was funny. It's always also funny to hear our teachers' impressions of americans and how we speak. Also, during a devotional, one of the mission president said to the departing missionaries that week that if they were homesick, just wait until they got into the field... real comforting... haha.
Also, apparently the booms we hear and puffs of smoke from the mountains are because we're near a mining site. Makes sense.
Later that day___________________________
The temple was good! I was a bit more tired this time, but it was still a good experience. Again, if you ever think traffic in Utah is bad, it's definitely nothing compared to here in Mexico.
