June 5, 2017 – Week 36!
8 MONTHS AS OF YESTERDAY! How crazy is that?
This week has been pretty good! Today we aren't having P day because on Thursday we'll be going to the temple! It will be a great day.
This week I was a bit sick with a sore throat, but it didn't stop me from working! I'm glad I've never been sick enough to have to stay home all day. I wanna just work and not have to stay home. It feels like wasting time in the mission to stay home, even if you're sick. I know the Lord's blessing me so I can keep blessing others!
This week we also had the multizone conferences. It was a great day. I learned lots, and I hope to take all that I learned and put it to work! After 8 months in the mission, I realize time goes by fast. There are elders leaving that I knew when I first got here. Some of my first zone leaders are finishing their missions. This really is the work of the Lord, and it will go by in a blink, so I'm working to make sure I'm using my time better and better each day!
This week was a bit hard at first with contacting. I sometimes just kind of put it off to the side, but we can't do that! My companion and I made goals to do better, (and also kinda "joked" saying if we didn't contact 10 each every day, we'd have to give the other companion money), and since then, we've been completing the 20 contacts daily that we should be doing! The little things like contacting really bring about miracles in the mission. With the small things, you find the people who really need the gospel in their lives!
One of our new investigators this week (Edison) is awesome. He's got a strong Christian faith, and he knows the Bible really well. His family had met with the misisonaries in the past, and we're returning now to teach them again for the first time in a while. We've only had one lesson with him, but from that lesson we've learned that we have ltos of things in common in the 2 different religions, because well, even as Mormons, we're Christians too! We believe in Christ! I hope we can keep returning and teaching him and his family the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
I want to testify of the blessing of repentance. We always teach that principle of the gospel to everyone, and I really know in a very personal sense that repentance is a blessing. I have seen miracles in those who follow the steps and receive peace from a true repentance. Jesus Christ suffered for our sins, and we can all feel forgiven and we can have our burdens lifted as long as we repent daily for the errors that we all have! Study repentance in the scriptures and you'll find many examples of how repentance can be a blessing, even if it seems hard at first.
I hope you all have a great week!
