February 19, 2018 – Week 73!
This week has been pretty good!
Tomorrow we have transfers. I'm pretty sure I'll be staying here in Caja de Agua, but you never know! President can receive revelation and if I'm needed elsewhere, I'll go!
On Tuesday we got our trip to the temple, and we made it there early this time! It was really such a spiritual experience. I can testify that as you enter into the temple, ALL the worldly distractions and worries go away completely... It is a piece of Heaven on Earth in the House of the Lord. You really can feel the spirit there. If anyone is preparing to take the first steps to be baptized in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I can tell you that the blessings and peace that come from the temple are motive enough to keep progressing! Just think. Eternal families, peace, joy, happiness that will be found nowhere else in the world, and freedom from all error. THESE are the joys that come from learning about and applying the Gospel of Jesus Christ here on the earth.
This Valentine's day was funny because the dog of one of our investigators was following us ALL around the cerro (hill). He must have loved us as missionaries! He followed us from one side of our sector up and around to the other side, and waited during a lesson, and then followed us as we took him back to his house! Consequences of petting nice dogs on the stairs here haha.
We have been teaching Dana more this week. She's progressing for her baptism which will be on the 3rd of March! I hope all goes well in these next couple of weeks so that we can have more people preparing as she is to make this covenant and be baptized!
We also played soccer with members this week, but not many came. A couple of non-members came though! We played, and nearing the end, I ran too fast and then tried to stop between two people and tripped and fell. It was on asphalt too... So I kinda cut up my knee and scraped my hand a bit. But I'm glad that I had first-aid cream in my bag (thanks Mom for teaching me well ;) and it wasn't too bad. I'm glad too because I've still been able to proselyte and walk and teach without it hurting much this week!
This Sunday, we also had 6 investigators coming to church! 6 of the 7 who came last week! It was a good week of attendance.
I also learned more this week about specific prayers. When we are passing through hard times, and we are looking for specific guidance from our Father in Heaven, a specific prayer can help us a lot. We will receive ideas and guidance thanks to the Holy Spirit. I can testify that this is true because it has been a great help for me here on the mission. Being apart from the world isn't always the easiest thing, but as I receive guidance form the Holy Ghost, it becomes much easier! It's really a blessing to be here on a mission and to serve the Lord.
Well, I don't have a ton of time left, but I hope this letter fills you all in! Not too much happened this week. Just the normal. Missionary Work.
Hope you all have a great week this week! (My typing skills are getting better each week and I'm typing faster and faster every Monday haha.)
