March 3, 2018 – Week 75!

This week has been a good experience, but there's still a ton of stuff to learn!

This week we started teaching a part member family. The couple isn't married, but they have plans to do so in the future! Carlos isn't a member, and his wife Ana is.They are great! From what I heard, they came to church after being visited by a home teaching companionship! That just testifies that doing our Home Teaching / Visiting Teaching really can be a help in bringing less active members back, and also in finding people to share the gospel with! Many people don't have the blessings that come from being a member of this church, but it could just be because they don't know much about what we believe! Always share your spiritual experiences with others, and help the feel the joy you do, and many will have a greater desire to follow Jesus Christ in their lives!

We also had interviews this week with President Larson. As always, interviews are a great experience and I learned a bit more about how I can help investigators accept a baptismal date! That's been one of the difficulties we've had this week and last week. We have been teaching a lot of people. But not many have been progressing. But thanks to the counsels President Larson has given us, and also some from our zone leaders, we now have plans to change this week! We'll be focusing in baptizing converts. Not how many people we teach, nor new investigators, but we'll be focusing on helping people prepare for the ordinance of baptism. We have to always have an amplified vision here in the work of the Lord. We can't just think about what we teach today. We must think about how what we teach today will help someone prepare for baptism in 3 to 4 weeks. It's not always easy, but I know it's possible! I hope this week we can have some grand miracles!

We also had some intercambios this week. I went with Elder Corrales to the sector Zarate. It was awesome not climbing stairs for the first time in 4+ months! Good experience though. Intercambios help you learn even more and from different perspectives! We also ran into some missionaries from the Lima East mission because they were there as we went into the church for Ward Counsel meeting (zarate's chapel is outside of mission boundaries). Missionaries I don't know?? What? haha. The mission is so small here that it's easy to get to know a good number of missionaries.

We also have been teaching Celeste more this week. She's prayed and feels good about the Book of Mormon! I'll update more as she progresses and attends church!

We also visited Dana finally after a long time. We feel like she'll need a bit more preparation for her baptism, and because she didn't attend church she won't be able to be baptized on the 10th of March, but she can keep preparing for the 17th of March! We'll work hard so the baptismal date doesn't fall through!

Brandon also is still preparing for baptism, and his progression has increased this week! Hope he comes to church this Sunday so his baptismal date isn't pushed back! He's reading and praying and doing well! But there's always an opposition in all things, so we're still working with him!

This Sunday was a bit rough when no invetigators attended church, but we're making plans more specific this week so that they can attend next week! We also had a meeting with the missionaries in the zone and with stake president. It's cool because in the meeting we are able to talk about how the members can help in the missionary work more, and also how we as missionaries can help investigators and members more! It's cool to have this meeting once a month.

Well, that's about it this week. I'll be turning 20 on Saturday, which is just crazy. I won't be a teen anymore.... Wow. BUT It'll be great to spend my birthday serving the Lord!

Hope you all have a great week!
