April 16, 2018 – Week 81!

Crazy! This week has been crazy but not too crazy. More awesome than crazy! More crazy for the fact that we have a lot of investigators with baptismal dates now, so we will have to work hard to make sure that none of the dates fall through!

We had intercambios this week, and I was able to go to Zarate to work with Elder Jarvis. That sector is different from ours. No hills, more grass and parks, and more clean air haha. The atmosphere is different and the people show it in their attitude! Crazy how that works. It was nice to work in a plain-ground sector for a day! I learned a lot from Elder Jarvis on how to always be happy and excited in lessons, and I got some great counsel to take back to Caja de Agua!

This week we had a new investigator named Milagros. She's 17 and when we taught her, she understood the Restoration! She sadly kinda disappeared and wasn't able to go to church this week, but we are hoping to find her soon so she can keep learning more about the gospel of Jesus Christ!

Thursday was a great day. REALLY great! The best happened towards the end of the day. So, on wednesday I contacted a man in the door of his house named Sandro, and he happened to tell us that he was almost baptized in the church at 12 years old, but never ended up getting baptized. We set an appointment for Thursday, and when we went to his house, he let us come in, and then called all of the family in the house to come participate in the lesson. He introduced us as missionaries and told the kids and the rest in the house about us, and how we were from other countries etc. We shared the Restoration with them, and in total, we taught 8 people! (some came and left during the lesson, and 2 are still less than 8 years old, but it was still a great experience!) All the kids were participating and holding up their pamphlet images of the 1st vision of Jospeh Smith as we watched the video on their TV. It was so cute! The father and one of the sons acceped baptism, and we are hoping that in the following appointments more will accept the baptismal invitation as well! They are such a great family. They weren't able to come to church this Sunday sadly, but we'll be making plans with them so that they can come next week! Miracles really do happen. People (and families) really can be prepared to hear the message of the Restoration.

On Friday we had interviews with President. It was a great experience as always. President Larson gives such great counsel! He gave some responses to a question I had, and then told me to look for even more personal answers (based on personal revelation like President Nelson talked about in his talk in General Conference). I'm so glad to have him as my mission president! He's only got one transfer more though, and then he'll be finishing his mission. It'll be a good experience having another president too! More spiritual guidance and more points of view to help the work of the Lord move forward! After interviews we had a ward mission night activity, and we based it on the iron rod. Funny thing is, that of the 16+ people who were there, one was a nonmember, and the nonmember was the only one who made it to the end of the test without getting distracted! Haha it was funny. Also a good experience and a good object lesson teaching about a story of the Book of Mormon!

We also had another investigator accept baptism! His name is Renato. We taught him about the Restoration too. I'll update more as he keeps progressing towards baptism!

I can tell you that Brad Pitt came to church on Sunday. No, not THAT Brad Pitt, but Brad Pitt our investigator! Great name haha. He's also preparing for baptism in May! It'll be great to see him progress with his mom towards baptism!

Well, that's about all for this week. Today's a pretty calm P-Day, so it'll be enjoyable!

Hope you all have a great week this week! Thanks for all your emails!
