February 27, 2017 - Week 22!
This week has been awesome. Every week here is awesome.
I have gotten used to showering with cold water this week. The shower heads are the things that heat the water here, and ours broke I guess. Not sure how. It's alright though, because I'mm still grateful that we have water! Cold water is better than no water!
This morning we helped some birds learn to fly. Hermana Jesica had some birds she found outside, and we helped watch them as the mom came down to them. one just doesn’t want to fly or something, so we put it back in the cage and she'll probably try tomorrow to help it.
Funny story this week. We were at our pensionista's house having lunch, and we made a paper airplane or two. we gave them to the daughters of our pensionista, and they started throwing the planes out the 4th floor window. by the end of lunch, there were like 6 planes on the street and we cleaned them all up. haha never give kids paper airplanes on the 4th floor.
We finally were able to have a small lesson with the Jauregui family (the golden family we found in the 1st month here )! It was awesome. They didn't have light in their house, but we still taught them anyway! We used a flashlight for light. They've been having some really hard times, but they're still pressing forward, even though its hard! I hope we can help them in any way possible! We'll definitely be sharing the plan of salvation with them. They are a great family and want to be with each other forever!
The miracle of this week is Hermana Patricia! We shared the message of the Restoration with her again, and asked her about her baptism on the 11th of March. She said she wanted to change the date again, and we just thought "uuuughhh again??" but then she surprised us by saying "can it be moved up to the 4th? " WOW. It's always awesome to hear that! It really shows that with time and knowledge of the gospel, people really can feel ready to make and keep covenants with God in their lives! I love it. The spirit really can bring about changes in the hearts of the children of God (all of us!)
We had a couple companion exchanges for one day this week, Normal intercambios. Awesome though! It's always cool to get to know the sectors of the other elders in our district for one day. The other elders had a bunch of cards on their floor, and I was told that they had a little card throwing war with the zone leaders haha. Oh fun times on the mission! :P
This Sunday we had Stake Conference. Just like in Utah, we came 20 mins early, but nearly ALL the seats were filled. Lots of people were in other rooms watching a live stream that someone was recording from the back of the cultural hall. The mission president and his family were there too! We sat behind his kids. President and Sister Larson shared a message too. It was a great stake conference! Awesome to hear a member of the 70 speak to us too!
This week was great, and if all goes well, we'll be having the baptism of Patricia this Saturday! Can't wait!
Crazy that in less than 2 weeks I'll be 19! I'm not ready to grow up, haha.
Hope you've all had a great week! It's great hearing from you all!
