March 6, 2017 - Week 23!

Hey everyone! This week has been great! The most exciting part is that we had a baptism and 2 confirmations!

To start out though... Woah.. This Friday I'll be 19. How crazy is that. I've been here in the mission for 5 months now... Woah...

Ok now for the baptism.

The baptism was of Patricia, someone we've been teaching for a few months now! I'm so glad she made the choice to get baptized, and I know it will be a blessing for her! The service was great, and even though it was fast Sunday the next day, there was lots of food. So we just took some in a bag to eat when fast Sunday ended haha.

On Sunday we had the confirmation of Patricia and also Aisha! 2 baptisms counted for our companionship for March so far! I hope we can have some more! The next baptisms will probably take place after the transfers (which happen March 21st), so I hope I stay one more transfer in this sector to see the baptisms of some of the families and individuals that we're teaching right now!

So this week started out a bit interesting. Right after the last P day, we rushed to a baptismal interview for Patricia, and forgot our keys in the apartment... It's on the 5th floor, so it's not like we could get in through the window safely. Without going into paragraphs of description, we had to go sleep with Elder Golder and Elder Evans for a night at their apartment.  Then we wore our same clothes that day that we had worn after p day (and we didn’t get the chance to shower last p day after sports either) so we were a bit gross haha. Gladly we got a copy of our keys from the office later that day, and we made an extra copy to give to the zone leaders to make sure it'd be easier to get in if we forgot our keys again. It was nice to shower that night.

Good news about this week is that we met more with the Jauregui family! They're awesome, and the dad is an english teacher, and he talks nearly perfect english! They're an awesome family, and we're really hoping that they come to church in these next weeks so that they can get baptized in the first days of April! They've been to church before, but it's been a while. They're so nice and friendly, and I love going over there to teach them!

I also went to Migrations Offices to get my ID card! We got the cards, but then had to give them to the offices again. I'll probably be getting it for real this Wednesday when we have our district meeting. I'll finally be a Peruvian! For 2 ish years.

We also went to this little local pizza place this week to try it out, since it was a lot cheaper than Papa Johns or Pizza Hut, and it was pretty good! Small pizza, but still nice for a little dinner break! They didn't have change at the pizza place, and gladly we had just enough to pay for the pizza. Always carry change in coins and bills here. Not lots of small stores have change for large bills. We always have to go to supermarkets to receive change for s/.100 bills. (s/. means soles, like $ for dollars)

This week is gonna be awesome. We'll be going to parque de las aguas on Thursday as a zone, so our p day today is a bit shorter than normal.

Hope you all have a great week!
