November 13, 2017 – Week 59!

The highlight of the week: 3 baptisms!

The baptisms were on Saturday. Nataly, Oliver, and Elvis were baptized. It was so great to see them all there in the baptismal font, one by one! We have worked hard with them to be able to get to this point, and each of them have made at least a little sacrifice to be able to get baptized, but it's all worth it in the end! I was able to baptize Elvis. The water in the font was so cold, but when I was performing the baptism and Elvis went under the water and came back up, we both felt warm. He told me that all the cold just went away. It's the coolest thing because it's true! All feeling just goes away as one feels the spirit during a baptism. I love it.

The sunday after, they also were all there for their confirmations! Sadly another investigator didn't make it to church on time, so she'll have to be baptized in 2 weeks, but it's alright! There's still time! We also felt great as we were helping with the confirmation of Nataly. It's always so cool to participate in ordinances!

We also had another 2 family home evenings this week! Both of which were great. Investigators were able to go to each one! The best part about it all is that we were able to teach new investigators at each of the family home evenings! Each of the families of members invited a friend or a family member who wasn't a member of the church, and we were able to teach them!

We also had an appointment this week with one of the friends of a recent convert. Daisy is the recent convert, and she invited a friend (Carmen) to meet with us. It was a great lesson! We were able to feel the spirit. She accepted baptism as well! I hope she will be able to come to church in the next weeks to keep progressing! It's always great to have a member invite a friend, because then the person investigating the church immediately has a friend with them and feels more comfortable in the church! I invite all of you who have friends who don't know much about the church to invite the friend to church with you! It's a great experience!

This week we also had multi-zone conference and it went really well! We were able to learn even more about how we can become better missionaries! We heard about what we'll be doing service-wise in December this year, and are planning early to do a lot of service in the mission! I'll explain more about that as it gets closer! It'll be like last year though, where each person does some service daily to be more like Christ!

Peru also played against New Zealand this week in soccer. We were in our house during the game because it was at 9:30 at night, so there wasn't much temptation to watch it haha. We did hear people yelling "GOAL GOAL GOAL... oh.. no.. nope" Hahaha people yell early.

Well, that's about all that happened this week. It really was a great week, like every week in the mission! The down sides of rejection and all that don't compare at all to the joy you feel as someone gets baptized. I know that this is the Lord's work, and nothing is going to stop the work of the Lord from moving forward. Nothing.

Hope you all have a great week this week!
