December 18, 2017 – Week 64!

Well, it's the week before Christmas! I hope you all are having a great time preparing for the festivities and fiestas and all the joy that comes from this time of year as we remember Jesus Christ!

This week has been good! We had a baptism this week of Mayri! She was able to be baptized this past Saturday, and her mom and sister came as well! We had to wait a week for her confirmation, which will be this Sunday, but it's always great to see how someone accepts the gospel of Jesus Christ and applies it in their life and chooses to get baptized! I know that small decisions like that can make grand changes in our lives!

We also had a special meeting with President and the elders this week to help with some of the common problems that an Elder might face on the mission. It was a great meeting! President really knows how to help everyone and do it in a good way too! Every meeting with him and his wife is great.

On the way to that meeting, I saw a Little Ceasar's Pizza in San Miguel! I've always wanted one here, and now it's here! I'm gonna have to go one day that we get permission to try it out! It's funny, I got so excited seeing it, and nobody understood why, but whatever haha.

We also had our ward talent show and chocolatada this week! It was a great event and some investigators were able to go! Each of the organizations (Young womens / mens, relief society, elders quorum etc.) all had a number or 2 whether it be a dance or a song or skit. Even the 6 missionaries did a skit. Yes, I participated, and it turned out great! We acted out a little scene where Elder Chininin was a director of a film, and we were actors, and I was the cameraman. It was great! It's awesome to participate and help show members that missionary work can be fun too!

This week we also visted some recent converts. It's good to see that they're doing well! Sometimes obligatory work has made it hard for some to come to church, but they are working hard to overcome the trials they have to participate fully in all the blessings that the gospel brings! Other recent converts are doing awesome, and preparing to go on missions in a year or so! It'll be awesome to hear about that when the time comes!

Hope you all have a great week! We're preparing for Christmas here, trying to find as many people as we can! We'll have our Christmas lunch this week too. I'll let you know how all that goes next week!

Feliz Navidad!
