September 11, 2017 – Week 50!

Heyyyyyy again.

So. There were transfers. And... I didn't get transfered! I'll be here 6 more weeks. It's my 5th transfer here in Las Brisas. I've been here since March, how crazy! There's always a reason for everything though! I'm glad to be here!

So this week has been good! We had our district meeting on Thursday, and Elder Birnbaumer is our new District Leader! He's awesome. During the meeting, we made goals and we'll be doing an activity to develop a Christ-like attribute this transfer. It'll be awesome!

We also had more lessons with some investigaotrs that we had this past week. One lesson we had with Danilo, and it was awesome! Danilo had been baptized before, but not confirmed, so now we'll be teaching him again and baptizing him after he gets married! His nephew has been going to church with us for the past 2 weeks, and he's 8 years old, so if he gets baptized the same day as his uncle, he'll be a ward baptism.

Oh the interesting things that happen when people are drunk. Let me explain. We were out contacting, and a drunk guy came up to us, speaking English like all of them, and then  went on to tell me how he lived in the USA for 9 years etc. He then gav eus both hugs and put his head up to ours... Yeah a little gross, but what can you do? Haha. The good thing is that the drunks are almost always happy and calm with "Brothers in Christ" as they say. (Hermanos en Cristo). There's always something interesting that happens in the misison. Always!

This week we also went to the clinic to stay with an Elder that was there, but when we arrived, nobody was there in the room. We talked to the workers and they said he was told he can leave half an hour before we got there. We had to wait a bit until the zone leaders could figure out what was going on. We called on a payphone too because for a few minutes our phone couldn't find the signal. Well, turns out that he did leave, and so we ate our lunch in tupperware there in the clinic and went home after. At least we got some good time to study! There's always something good that you can find in situations like those!

We also have found some new investigators this week. Always interesting that, even after 6 months in one sector, there are ALWAYS more people to find and teach! Always! One of the investigators we found is named Mirma (I think that's how it's spelled), and she turned out to be really good friends with a member in our ward! We talked to the member this past sunday, and he said he could come with us to teach her! It's always great to have members who are friends with investigators. If members are involved in missionary work, the work moves along faster. If members aren't involved, the work moves along, but at a very slow pace. If that had to be one of the invitations I could give to all members, it would be one of the most important. Work with the missionaries as much as possible! If you have friends or people who you know who aren't members, invite them to hear the missionaries! Invite them to church activities! It is always worth it, and God will bless you!

This week will be awesome because Elder Oaks is coming to speak with our mission and 2 other Lima missions! We'll be meeting with him this Wednesday, so next week I'll let you all know how it went! It always is an amazing experience to hear an Apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ. Especially in the mission.

I forgot my journal this week, so I don't remember everything that happened, BUT I hope that you all are satisfied with what I do remember haha. So much happens every week that it's impossible to remember it all. This week was awesome, and the week to come will be even more great and spiritual!

Hope all is well!
