September 4, 2017 – Week 49!

Wow, I've been in the mission for 11 months today. How crazy!!! Time really flies when you work and focus on the mission! I've gotta now keep my focus as I pass the year mark in a couple weeks.

Wow this week was full of things, and I hope I can remember enough to put in the email!

Last P day was interesting as we got our hair cut, because as we finished, we explained that we were missionaries and the person cutting our hair had lots of questions, so we sat and talked about the gospel a bit. Even on P Day there are opportunities to share the gospel!

We also found a new investigaot this week who had talked with the missionareis before but had lost contact for a while and has been looking for the missionaries. His name is Raul. He doesn't have a home, but that doesn't stop him in his search to find the gospel and live it. He talked to us in the street and explained his situation, and even though he doesn't have much, he told us about what he did have, and all the knowledge he gained when he talked to the sister missionaries before. It was great talking to him, and he has a great testimony! He didn't come to church this week, but I hope we can keep in contact with him and keep teaching him! He has a desire to be baptized and has told us that he knows it's the right thing to do!

That same day we talked to someone who wanted to just confuse us or give us questions about the Bible that didn't really have anything to do with personal salvation. You know, those types of questions for pure knowledge about things that don't really matter lots? Yeah. Haha.

Then we talked to some people who were her in Peru visiting family, but for years have lived in the USA (in West Virginia?) and they had listened to the missionaries before, but where they live it was a bit hard to attend spanish wards, because the closest one was 40 minutes away. We'll see if we can give them a visit too as they are here visiting! Maybe their family here would be interested in hearing the Gospel!

We also went again this week during intercambios to do visits with Alberto, our recent convert. He was great! He shared his testimony and the knowledge he had during the 2 visits we had.

The next day later in the night we heard people screaming "GOOAALL ahhhh". Yep. Peru was playing haha. You always know when Peru is playing and when they score a goal. EVERYONE gets together to watch the game (but not us as missionaries).

We also found an investigaor this week that had been an investigator since 2002. Yep. 15 years with misisonaries. Now he can finally prepare to be baptized though! After a long time of paperwork for a marriage and all that jazz, he now can prepare and get baptized! He wants to do it too. He's awesome! (His smile reminds me of Uncle Todd Hull's smile) It'd be great to keep visitng him! His nephew went to church this sunday, but he's 8 years old, so not quite old enough that we could  baptize him.

Sunday was cool too! We visited some members and had lessons with them, and contacted during the day.

Well, transfers are tomorrow. I don't know if I'll be leaving the sector or staying. I've been in this sector for 6 months now. How time flies... It'd be awesome to stay though! The ward and missionary work is progressing well!

That's all for this week!

Every day my testimony grows stronger about the gospel. I'm still learning things, and I'm still resolving doubts about questions I've had before the mission, but all this knowledge is helping me prepare for the life after the mission! I may return without a plaque, but I'll still work to be a missionary as a member! The knowledge learned in the mission isn't just for misisonaries. It's for everyone. We can all learn more about the gospel. I invite you all to always read the scriptures and watch conference talks and listen to the words of the prophets. It is great guidance for our lives!

Hope you all have a great week!
Quiero escribir más en Español, pero cuando estoy tratando a escribir en Español, estoy más lento, y no hay tiempo por los que están lentos jaja.
