April 23, 2018 – Week 82!
First off, yesterday we printed our Family History fan charts, and I realized that I have 2 married relatives named George Washington and America... Yes. George Washington got married to America... :P
This week was full as well! Sadly some of the 9 investigators with baptismal dates haven't been able to be found... We have been passing by every day but they haven't been home, so many of their dates were postponed and we'll have to invite them again. I hope we can find them because there are some really prepared families that just haven't had a lot of time this past week.
This week we were able to find yet another family together to teach! It really is so great to have a whole family together to teach. The spirit is strong when all are listening and willing to participate! The dad's name is Cristofer and the Mom's name is Esther, and we also taught some of Cristofer's kids. It was a great lesson about the Restoration! Even the young 10 year old and 9 year old kids were answering questions and paying attention!
We've also been working more with Brad Pitt! He came to church yesterday, and it was his 2nd attendance! Hopefully we can keep visiting him to help him progress towards baptism! There isn't a lot of free time that people have here, so trying to find them in a free hour is hard, but I know that it is possible! The spirit will guide us to help sons and daughters of God who are ready for baptism!
We also are working with a family of 4 this week. The parents are named Evelyn and Victor. They are a great family! We were able to teach them about the Restoration, and we also talked to them about marriage and eternal families. Even though they will need a bit more time to prepare for baptism, I know that they will be able to feel the peace in their family as they keep learning and applying the Gospel of Jesus Christ in their lives! It was good to see the majrity of the family at church as well for the first couple hours!
We are also working with an investigator named Milagros (Miracles). She was able to come to church on sunday as well for the 3 hours, and the Young Women started working with her and becoming friends with her AL TOQUE (right from the start). So it was great! She is excited to keep learning, and we'll be helping her to accept a baptismal date for May! I hope she can progress!
We've still been working with Renato, but it seems that his progress towards baptism will be a bit slower. The good thing is that he knows a member that lives near his house, so he has a friend to help him along the way and testify of the blessings of the Gospel! Working with members really is the best way to help the work of the Lord progress even faster. The missionaries just can't do it all alone. As members learn to work with the missionaries, the work will progress, and people will be more excited to share the gospel, ane the Lord will bless us even more in our lives! If you have free time, accompany the missionaries! If you have received blessings in your life thanks to the gospel, share those blessings with others! I promise you that as you do so, your love for the Lord will increase, you will realize just how important the gospel is, and you will feel love towards those around you as well.
We also had intercambios this week. Always a great experience to learn from other elders!
Well, today for P Day we played tennis, and it was awesome! Really hot though outside. I kinda can't wait for winter cooler weather to come.
Hope you al have a great week this week!
