April 30, 2018 – Week 83!

Ooy week 83 how crazy.

This week has been pretty good! On Saturday we had electricity cut from the morning until about 8pm, so when it got dark, we started contacting with a flashlight and saying that we would bring the light of Christ into their homes if they would accept a visit. It was a cool way to make use of a hard situation! Then we had to leave our sector and go to another sector with light until the light in our sector came back on. Gladly the light came back in 30 minutes because we had to rush to an appointment that night!

We also had intercambios with the Zone Leaders this week. I was able to learn a lot from Elder Mortenson about how to invite investigators to baptism more casually! He's a good teacher. He teaches in a fun way too. during the intercambios we were able to give a few blessings to members as well. Blessings of comfort and strength, and of health. It really is great to know the God has given his Pristhood power to man so that we can receive blessings in these days. Blessings really do help, especially when one has faith in the Savior. - During the intercambios, we also taught a member from Arizona (Kevin) that Elder Mortenson baptized! It was strange speaking in English about the gospel haha. It was half in English for him and half in Spanish for his wife, even though he speaks spanish too. Good experience!

This week we found a young man who doesn't really believe much in God. I think teaching people with beliefs that God doesn't exist is my weak point. I'm going to be studying about the basics of the Godhead to help people with those beliefs understand who God and Jesus Christ are. It'll be interesting to see how we can help!

We also have been teaching Milagros a bit more this week. She was able to go to church, and she enjoyed it! The young women have been really helping her feel included, which is just the thing she needs to keep her coming to church, and not just for committment. It always is good to have a friend in the church who can help support and strengthen and answer questions, and also to have fun! Milagros has been progressing well! I know that the Spirit of God can testify to her, and to anyone else who asks, to let them know that the Church is Jesus Christ's church. I know that Jospeh Smith was and is a prophet of God. I know that the spirit will testify of that too!

We also have been working with Evelyn and her daughter and her husband this week! they are a great family. We have had  afew lessons with them now, and it's great to see Evelyn and her kids come to church! We are focusing on them as a family so hopefully in the future the whole family can attend church together each Sunday! They feel good in the church too, and always have a smile on their faces during classes and during the sacrament meeting. It's nice to see people smile :) It shows that they enjoy what they are experiencing!

Well, that's about it for this week on updates. Today we played soccer for P-Day, and I haven't played in a while, so my ankles were a bit sore, but nothing that'll stop me from working hard to bring people unto Christ! This week will be great, and May will be even better! Time passes fast. There's no time to lose!

Hope you all have a great week!
