June 25, 2018 – Week 91!

Wow, week 91! Transfers tomorrow, and I'm 99.9% sure I'm not getting transfered, but my companion maybe!

This week, even though it was a pretty full week, wasn't as grand of a week as usual, but it wasn't bad either! We jsut didn't find as many new investigators as normal and didn't have many coming to church. BUT, we know that this week will be even better!

One of our new investigators we did have this week is named Liliana. She was a referral that came to our cellphone, and we went to visit her, and it was a great visit! She was contacted on the bus, and the elder that contacted her (I think Elder Golder), gave her a Book of Mormon! Well, she read all of the intro, and the testimonies of the 3, the 8, and that of Jospeh Smith all before the 1st lesson! She read a lot of that on the bus ride too! It was so cool to hear that! She remembered a lot of it too! We taught her about the Restoration of the Gospel, and she was really receptive! she accepted baptism too, and wants to send the missionaries to visit her son because she thinks he would need the gospel too! It's awesome when one of your investigators gives referrals too. THAT is how the gospel is shared with all the world!

We also had an investigator this week who went to seminary (Sebastian)! Awesome! The Bishop's wife here teaches seminary. He went to seminary, and then he went to a ward activity right after too! We explained before that he could go home after seminary, but he asked if he could stay a bit longer because he didn't have much else to do! Awesome. We're still teaching him and his family, and they weren't able to attend church on Sunday, but we'll help them so this sunday they can go!

This week I also dreamed that I was sharing my testimony in a gospel principles class, and that during my testimony, there was an earthquake. a little one. well, after the dream, I woke up and heard dogs barking and my companion moved as well, and I think there might actually have been a little quake during the night and i slept through it! theres 2 words for earthquake here. temblor and terremoto. Temblor is less, and a terremoto is stronger. i think it was a temblor. terremotos are the center where things get destroyed usually. (in spanish)

This week, I can say for a fact that this church is true. Not jsut because I've seen so many blessings, but because I just have been able to feel it very strongly. We also had a special visit this week from Elder Godoy (presidency of the 70), and he visited the district leaders, zone leaders, and sister training leaders of our mission. It was such a great meeting! We talked about our purpose as missioanries, and how we need to grow into our calling, so that when we finish our missions, we wont need to differenciate between Elder Bruner and Preston, because they'll be the same person, with the same characteristics! And for anyone with callings, it's the same! President Bruner and Garth will be the same person! We need to grow continually so that we can apply what we're learning, and we'll become stronger each and every day! He also taught us how to find jobs and work later on in life so that we can be in a position to serve the Lord full time if he calls us to do so. I love hearing stuff like that! He also helped us to prioritize life after the mission. He talked a ton about after the mission, but all of the teachings helped us too as leaders in the mission right now!It was so spiritual and uplifting!

We've also been teaching the Salazar family this week (Venezuelans), and they're progressing well for their baptism! They need to attend twice more, but they have almost all of the lessons already! They're so happy, and one might be moving to get a job, but we'll see this week! I love seeing their spiritual progress, and I'm sure God loves seeing it too! they are a great family, and the members in their family who are members of the church are helping them lots!

We also helped a less active family yesterday. We helped them feel the spirit and we planned a family home evening with them and one of their nieces who isn't a member of the church. That'll be next week! I love working with emmbers who ahve strong testimonies! The dad is a former bishop who also has a full Liahona collection from 1990 and on! SO COOL! I want a collection like that later on in life.

Well, I think that's about it for this week. Unless I think of any more cool activities that have gone on! I hope you all have a great week! Keep progressing and growing your testimony! Always strengthen it! Read the scriptures, pray, go to church. share the gospel. Nothing will bring more joy than that.

With much love,

Elder Bruner
