June 4, 2018 – Week 88!

Ooh, this week has been great!

Let's start off with the cool things. This Sunday we were able to come in contact with Jean Pierre, who is 21 and one of his greatest desires is to serve a mission! He's not even a member of the church! We went to pick him up to go to church with him, and we were able to teach a bit to him in the church as well, and he accepted all of the Gospel of Jesus Christ! It was such a spiritual experience. He has such a great desire to serve the Lord, and he understands that it doesn't matter what people think of us, we should still share the gospel anyway! He is awesome, and so fun to talk to! Just a great young man in general. I see a ton of spiritual potential! He liked going to church as well! He was a referral, and I can testify that referrals are a great way of finding people prepared to receive the gospel!

We also contacted the cousin of a member of our ward this Sunday. She had before listened to the missionaries a couple times, but didn't really have any long-term follow-ups or anything like that. We invited her to be baptized after teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ and a bit of the Book of Mormon, and she accepted! Maybe before she wasn't prepared to receive the gospel, but now may be her time! She even invited her cousins to hear us, and one seemed a bit interested! It'll be cool working with members, especially her cousin, to excite her to hear more about the gospel!

We had our last interview with President Larson this week too. They were amazing. I honestly love President Larson like I would a family member. He is a dedicated servant of the Lord who has helped me become a more dedicated and consecrated servant of the Lord as well. He and Sister Larson really do receive the Lord's instruction to guide the missionaries here in Lima, and I can't wait for President and Sister Strong to get here at the end of June!

With my comapnion Elder Torres, we've seen times of less success and times of great success. It may be only the halfpoint in this transfer, but the Lord is still hastening His work here in Ingenieria, Rimac! I can't wait to keep helping the sons and daughters of God who live here in our sector! I know that this is the Lord's work, and there will be nothing that will stop His work from progressing. We have a lot to do still, but each time we follow the counsels of our leaders and Prophet and Apostles, we WILL be blessed. We WILL see changes in the lives of others, and in our own lives as well. We must always focus on our personal conversion, and then we can help others become more converted to the Lord as well. Becoming personally converted is one of the most important things, because as we become personally converted, we have spiritual experiences that we can share to bless the lives of others too!

We've also been teaching Nelson this week. He accepts baptism, but it's hard for him to accept a specific date, because of past experiences he's had already being baptized etc. He has a strong desire to follow the Lord as well, and I know that the Lord will answer his prayers and help him to see the truth and feel the sureness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ that has been restored through the prophet Jospeh Smith!

Well, that's about all for this week. This Saturday we'll be receiving the visit of Gary E. Stevenson. I can't wait! More revelation! More guidance from the Lord through His servants!

Hope you all have a great week this week!
